The Bammies Music Foundation (BMF), located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the hotbed of music for decades, celebrates the remarkable talent of Bay Area musicians and their music!

BMF was founded by Kenny Wardell Sr. after the “BAMMIES REUNION CONCERT” in 2018 as an extension of the Bay Area Music Awards and the legendary BAM Magazine (, which continues to cover the Bay Area’s flourishing music scene.

BMF supports Bay Area music through a number of initiatives including the Bay Area Music Walk of Fame in front of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco and the Bay Area Music Awards (The Bammies), which honors established and emerging musicians.


BAM Music History in the Bay Area

From 1977 until 2000, BAM MAGAZINE was a San Francisco Bay Area based printed music publication following in the footsteps of Rolling Stone Magazine which was born in San Francisco but moved soon after to New York City.


The BAMMIES MUSIC FOUNDATION is a recognized California State 501 c3 tax-deductible non-profit organization that was formalized after the “BAMMIES REUNION CONCERT” in March of 2018.
